FUJI XEROX LAUNCHES ITS NEW GENERATION OF DIGITAL COLOUR MULTIFUNCTION DEVICES WHICH COMES WITH SMALLER CARBON FOOTPRINT

Sydney, November 16, 2009 – Fuji Xerox Australia has announced the launch of the ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV C5570/C4470/C3370/C2270, a series of high performance digital colour multifunction devices featuring breakthrough technologies that deliver superb colour, speed, better reliability and easy to use advanced features coupled with environmentally conscious engineering.

SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and larger Private & Public Sector departmental offices can now join in the green crusade by deploying the ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV series featuring the ‘Energy Star’ standards that meet the lowest TEC value, boasting a 75 percent reduction compared to conventional MFDs.

Lower Power Consumption Means Greater Energy Savings

Fuji Xerox has developed a high-precision LED (Light Emitting Diode) print head technology ‘DELCIS’ (Digitally Enhanced Lighting Control Imaging System) that achieves an output resolution of 1200 X 2400 dpi that is equivalent or even superior to that produced by conventional laser raster output scanner (ROS) systems. LED print head technology makes it possible to build smaller devices and reduces power consumption by up to 45 percent. B y using a newly developed biomass plastic that comprises more than 30 percent of plant-derived constituent (by weight) for the manufacture of moving parts in the machine, Fuji Xerox has also effectively reduced the carbon dioxide emissions during the production process.

For the first time ever, Fuji Xerox has replaced the traditional fuser with the new Induction Heating or IH fuser which consumes 25% less energy. This results in the world’s quickest start-up time of just 3 seconds, resulting in higher business efficiency.

Using LED as the light source for image scanning enables brightness that is 1.5 times greater than xenon lamps used in conventional devices. It reduces power consumption by 70% while achieving greater scanning precision and speeds.

The fusing temperature of the EA-Eco toner used is more than 20 ⁰ C lower than that of conventional toners cutting power consumption by around 15 percent.

Fuji Xerox allows businesses to push the green agenda without having to sacrifice the business applications and security that they need from their Multifunction Devices.”

Universal Design – Global User Interface

The new design, colour user interface is an 8.5-inch WVGA colour TFT screen that provides a high-precision display using colourful icons and larger buttons. The user-friendly layout allows users to complete a job hassle-free with smooth left to right control panel operation.

Other features include Scan to Email, USB, Folder, Home, Network Folder and FTP which make it easier to bring paper documents into the network.

Seamless Customisation

The Apeos models within the new Fuji Xerox MFD range can offer further benefits to organisations. Image Gateway for Apeos 2.0 (IGA2.0) is a component based software platform for Fuji Xerox ApeosPort devices, providing integrated functionality for the multifunction device (MFD). Capabilities including server based cost recovery, scanning, faxing and a two-way access point to document management systems using a customisable, full colour, high-resolution interface at the device touch panel. Apart from productivity, security and cost-saving benefits, IGA 2.0 will further assist organisations wishing to minimize their carbon footprint through minimizing document printing wastage.
